About this map

Our case: an ancient Welsh home, Tŷ Mawr, the Great House of Llandough, stewarded by one family since at least 1667, became Church View Close, an estate of twenty houses.

Step by step, from the Iron Age to 2026, each claim shows its source. What the records prove is marked VERIFIED; what the courts said is marked COURT; what the family says and has not yet proved is marked CASE; what is not yet formally recorded is marked as such.

Sources are listed under each step.

Colours. Each parcel is coloured by the holder on the home page’s line for it at that station. The dotted white line is the whole of Parcel A from the 1877 split. The woodland (pink) and the green (yellow, the lower third of Parcel A) are drawn as parts carved from Parcel A; a dotted edge means the area is not proved by plan. Tap any parcel for details.

Lines. Solid outlines are traced from a source (an OS sheet or the 1939 tenancy plan), by eye. Hatched outlines are reconstructions or estimates. They are not recorded boundaries.

Old maps. Ordnance Survey six-inch (1878–79) and 25-inch (1900, 1920, 1947) sheets, images from the National Library of Scotland, reproduced under CC-BY (“Reproduced with the permission of the National Library of Scotland”). The 1920 and 1947 sheets were fitted to the 1900 sheet by matching the engraving (accuracy a few metres). Aerial: Esri World Imagery. Narration: a synthetic British voice; if audio is blocked your browser's own voice reads the caption.

Film. The 14-minute narrated film of this story (v6).
