The story of the Great House Farm (Tŷ Mawr) land at Llandough-juxta-Penarth, from the 1877 split into Parcel A (house, yard, wood and green) and Parcel B (the fields east of the house) to the 1987 merger of the house parcel with the fields, and what followed.
Colours. “Our case” colours each parcel by the holder our case puts forward (prospective). “Records” colours it by what the records we hold show at that date (possession, tenancy or registered title). Tap any parcel for both.
Lines. Solid outlines are traced from a source (an OS sheet or the 1939 tenancy plan), by eye. Hatched outlines are reconstructions or estimates. They are not recorded boundaries. Every popup shows how each line was made.
Old maps. Ordnance Survey six-inch (1878–79) and 25-inch (1900, 1920, 1947) sheets, images from the National Library of Scotland, reproduced under CC-BY (“Reproduced with the permission of the National Library of Scotland”). The 1920 and 1947 sheets were fitted to the 1900 sheet by matching the engraving (accuracy a few metres). Aerial: Esri World Imagery. Narration: a synthetic voice (Piper “Cori”, trained on public-domain LibriVox recordings); if audio is blocked your browser's own voice reads the caption.
